DJ is said to be on the fence about qualifying. No LIV event upcoming and the June 30 36-hole event is two weeks before the Open. He’s at the Dundonald site in Scotland. Made cut in all three majors this year. It’s inconvenient but you can’t win if you don’t play! Hope he gives it a shot

With all upheaval coming to the PGA Tour system, this explanation from CEO Brian Rolapp makes it seem pretty simple. He was responding to the Rory McIlroy-Korn Ferry Tour comments, but feels like this could be applied broadly. "I think the best way to think about what we're doing here is that right now we have 47 events at the PGA Tour. We'll have 47 events going forward. That current model serves roughly 230 players. We'll serve that amount of players, the same. We are just organized now in a more simple understanding competitively so our fans can understand it, our partners know what they're getting as far as value. So we think we've just organized the same tour into a much more interesting and competitive system." Of course with everything here, much easier said than done!

This is almost exactly what I imagined a Unified Global Tour would be. But instead of making all the best players just play in America, it would visit many of the countries that make up half the PGAT membership. A great day for U.S. centric golf fans, sad for us Internationals.

Baseball: We are going to change the game by implementing a timer that is going to radically affect the way players, fans and media experience the entire sport. Golf: We're going to basically keep doing the same thing we've been doing and call it something different. That there would be *any* pushback on this (and watching Golf Channel right now, it seems like there is!) would be fairly amusing to me. These are relatively small changes that simplify and provide long-term stability for the Tour. And to be clear, I like the small changes (no sponsor exemptions, match play for Tour Championship etc.) They are good. But from where I sit right now, I don't think they really fundamentally change the sport or the league.

Brian Rolapp said the PGA Tour wants to rotate its postseason and go to prestigious courses. Imagine the Tour Championship at Pine Valley. Cypress Point. Seminole. National Golf Links. Bandon. Chicago Golf Club. "I think there are plenty of great golf courses in this country that we'd like to get to."
