I don’t do drama. Its gay. But here’s what I’ll say. For nearly 5 years I had single digit views. Nearly no subscribers. And I can assure you that I was putting a ton of effort & resources into my content. At no point during this time period did I blame my numbers on an unfair system or put down other people’s successes. Instead I focused on things that I could control. Namely, myself. I worked tirelessly to strengthen my onscreen persona, pacing, and communication skills onscreen and in social media. Guess what? It worked. Time is precious and the world can be unfair. I chose to spend that time building and creating. Refusing to wait for what I was owed, or for a system to become more “fair.” And in the process I met amazing, talented, passionate people who inspired me (as I’m sure I inspired them). Take it from a guy with shit health- life is too short to spend it yelling at the universe. But if you endure the hardships, the “unfair” ups and downs of any system, and surround yourself with good people- you’ll eventually get there too. And even if you don’t, you’ll be proud of what you left behind. I’d be doing this whether I had a million views or none (just like I did for half a decade). Because I love what I do and I’m proud of the journey that got me here.
