Not to get all philosophical and analytical here but I don't think it's that. Men are commenting on a biological phenomenon-- a man taking this photo would take the photo from a first person perspective. Women generally do not, they take the photo from a third person perspective. Women's lives are a story about what's happening to them, which is why they put themselves in the book's illustrations (photos). To not be in the photo is to be written out of the story. Men's lives are a story about what they have accomplished or built or transformed in the world, so they take a picture of only the object. Fundamentally and biologically wired for third person versus first person POV.

This photo is objectively amazing and historic- a human being looking backwards toward their home planet as they venture into space. This concept was once beyond our wildest imagination. But y’all just want to hate women.
