With rumours that the UK Government's Planning & Infrastructure Bill may soon be amended in ways that could further weaken protections including National Parks, the risks to nature are growing. This makes our message all the more urgent! Read our response wtru.st/46BXTJY

**No need to seed**. In all of these photos, degraded, formerly farmed ground, recovered itself, quickly, with a species-rich flora with no seeding. Nature did it. Local genetics. Local specialities & rarities. No cost. Something to think on...

I think most people would object to the ancient wildflower meadows of churchyards being "rewilded". These can often be the sole surviving wildflower meadows in a parish and need cherishing. This means management - mowing and raking up the hay at the right time of year. @godsacre
Wild Card@wildcardrewild

🚨The Church of England is one of the largest landowners in Britain. 🌍That’s why we're calling on the @churchofengland to show true environmental leadership and commit to rewild 30% of their land by 2030. Join us on the 6th October👉wildcard.land/rewild-the-chu…!

Do sign this letter, but banning neonicotinoids is not enough. They will just be replaced. We need systemic change and a shift to truly sustainable agriculture.

Many wildflowers have now gone to seed. Some seed heads are diagnostic, enabling identification to species level & some are truly spectacular! The challenge this week is to look out for them & share your finds for #WildflowerHour this Sunday 8-9pm using the hashtag #Seedheads!

Just when I thought Viper's-bugloss, Echium vulgare, couldn't get any more beautiful, I find this exquisite pale blue flowered form. Swoon.

1/2 #speciesaday no. 195 is Jersey Tiger. A big, gaudy moth. Spreading and no longer scarce. Comes to light but also flies in daylight. Feeds on a range of herbaceous plants. All along the Sussex coast.
