Together, we will reaffirm our support for Ukraine, honour the victims of Bucha, and send a clear message: Russia must be held responsible for its war crimes — accountability is essential for a just and lasting peace. As we work towards peace, we must also support those defending it. With @MariaStenergard, we are promoting stronger 🇪🇺 coordination on support for Ukrainian war veterans. At the initiative of 🇭🇷 and 🇸🇪, this issue will be high on the agenda in Kyiv, with Ukrainian veterans’ representatives and the Minister for Veterans Affairs. Building on Croatia’s experience, including the 2025 Split conference, we will continue sharing expertise and strengthening partnerships to support 🇺🇦 veterans.

Today, Sweden has announced its largest defense assistance package for Ukraine — nearly $1.4 billion. This will significantly strengthen our soldiers on the battlefield and help protect our skies from wicked Russian air attacks on critical infrastructure. Sweden is among the staunchest supporters of Ukraine’s defense capabilities, and this package builds on our historic agreement on Gripen aircraft and broader defense cooperation. 🇸🇪 @SwedishPM in @FT today on European competitiveness: - We need to be able to compete because of quality and because of innovation, not because we try to protect the European markets. - The basic idea of trying to protect European business, if that is the purpose of ”Buy European”, to try to avoid trading with or partner with other countries, then I’m very sceptical. - We do not want to protect European businesses that are basically not competitive. - There is absolutely a very fair and legitimate lack of patience right now in European business. - I think we should build more on Europe’s advantages. 🇭🇷🤝🇨🇾 Today in Zagreb, at the EU Heads of Mission Working Lunch hosted by Ambassador @A_Ignatiou, Minister @grlicradman welcomed Cyprus as it assumes the EU Council Presidency — the final presidency of the Trio 🇵🇱🇩🇰🇨🇾. Minister also outlined Croatia’s key priorities for 2026: 🌐 OECD accession – entering the final stage 🚆 3 Seas Initiative Presidency and high-level summit in April – scaling up North–South infrastructure, strengthening regional and EU competitiveness, and boosting connectivity via the Middle Corridor, IMEC and transatlantic energy/tech cooperation 🌊 MED9 Presidency 🇭🇷 – advancing a secure, sustainable and resilient Mediterranean, with Croatia as the Mediterranean gateway to Central Europe 🇪🇺 We extend our best wishes to Cyprus for a successful presidency and look forward to strengthened cooperation on our shared priorities. @CY2026EU @CyprusinAustria

Povodom završetka danskog predsjedanja Vijećem Europske unije, održali smo redoviti susret s veleposlanicima država članica EU-a, čiji je domaćin 🇩🇰 veleposlanik Ole Henrik Frijs-Madsen @DKAmbCroatia. ➡️Razgovarali smo o globalnim okolnostima s kojima se suočava Europska unija te o političkoj i gospodarskoj situaciji u Hrvatskoj. Najavili smo i održavanje sastanka na vrhu Inicijative triju mora #3SI te sastanka skupine #EUMED u Hrvatskoj iduće godine. ➡️Politička stabilnost važan je faktor za nastavak realizacije programa @VladaRH. Nakon članstva u #Eurozone i #Schengen, Hrvatska očekuje pristupanje @OECD tijekom 2026., čime ćemo zaokružiti svoje strateške vanjskopolitičke ciljeve. Ove godine dosegnut ćemo 78% prosjeka razvijenosti EU-a, što je važno za hvatanje koraka s državama koje su ranije postale članice. ➡️Zajedno s 🇪🇺 partnerima, 🇭🇷 se zalaže za što skorije postizanje dugotrajnog i pravednog mira u #Ukraine koji će poštovati načela međunarodnog prava te 🇺🇦 suverenitet. Nužno je sudjelovanja Europske unije i Ukrajine u mirovnim pregovorima, kao i činjenica da se granice ne mogu mijenjati silom. ➡️Istaknuo sam prioritete Hrvatske u pregovorima o #VFO, kao i važnost jačanja europske obrane. Hrvatska kontinuirano ulaže u modernizaciju @MORH_OSRH i namjerava dostići @NATO ciljeve o izdvajanju 3,5% BDP-a za obranu i 1,5% za povezane aktivnosti do 2035.
