🇳🇬 JUST IN - “What We Have Now Is Failure’ ~ Obasanjo Delivers Brutal Assessment of Tinubu’s Government, Warns Nigerians Not to ‘Reinforce Failure’’
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has delivered a scathing assessment of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as ineffective, incompetent, and a failure affecting all Nigerians.
Speaking in a widely circulated video, Obasanjo stated that poor governance has made every citizen a victim, stressing that businesses and livelihoods would be significantly better under a competent and performing government.
“When you have an ineffective and incompetent government, we are all victims… Those of your business would be better today if they had a competent and effective and performing government.”
He acknowledged that every administration inherits challenges but criticized the current government for relying on those challenges as excuses rather than delivering results.
“You came in because you know that there are challenges… And giving us excuses. That is why you haven’t achieved results.”
Drawing from his military background, Obasanjo issued a stark warning against accepting failure in leadership.
“First lesson I learned in my military training is never enforce failure… What we have now is failure. Never you reinforce it.”
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the presidency.

Standing Up for Democracy
Today, I joined fellow Nigerians, leaders, and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by National Chairman Sen. David Mark to participate in a peaceful "Save Democracy" protest.
This event was not just an effort to protect our democracy; it was also a moment of reflection on how far we have fallen as a nation. We must resist the suffocation of our democracy by those who once claimed to have sacrificed to defend it, but are now doing everything possible to undermine it and silence opposition.
History will not be kind to those who traded the struggle for democracy for the comfort of power. We will not remain silent, we will not be intimidated, and we will not surrender the future of this nation. The will of the people must prevail—stronger, louder, and impossible to suppress.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Abuja, Nigeria – April 8, 2026
Re: Affirmation of Authentic Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Call on INEC for Recognition
I, Uno Ekong, National Secretary of the original and authentic All Progressives Congress (APC), on behalf of the duly constituted National Executive Committee (NEC) and the wider membership of our great party, hereby affirm and fully recognize the leadership of Dr. (Alhaja) Hafsatu Danladi as the legitimate and authentic National Chairperson of the APC.
Our position is rooted in the principles of party constitution, due process, and the foundational values upon which the APC was established. The current structure led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda does not represent the true will and continuity of the original party apparatus. We stand firmly with Dr. Hafsatu Danladi and the authentic Exco as the genuine custodians of the party's mandate and legacy. We therefore call upon the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately recognize us — the leadership under Dr. Hafsatu Danladi as National Chairperson and my humble self as National Secretary — as the authentic leaders of the APC. This recognition is essential to uphold the rule of law, protect the integrity of our democratic institutions, and prevent any further erosion of public confidence in the electoral process.
This assertion is not taken lightly. It reflects the collective resolve of committed party faithful who believe in justice, transparency, and the preservation of the APC as a viable platform for progressive governance in Nigeria. We remain committed to due process and will pursue all legal avenues, including approaching the Federal High Court in Abuja, to affirm and defend this legitimate leadership. We urge all genuine members of the APC across the country, as well as well-meaning Nigerians, to stand with the authentic leadership as we work to reposition and strengthen the party for the greater good of our nation.
Thank you.
Signed: Uno Ekong
National Secretary
