Explained this on the pod but this was the exact same calculus I did for my Book of Basketball — being the undeniable alpha of a title team matters the most. In 2009 I had Wade at 28, Walton at 27, Barry at 26 and Isiah at 23. The whole point of basketball is to win the title.

Madden beat the hell out of every other football game that ever dropped. Sure there was some cool things in some games. Madden was always ahead and was the standard. Idk why anyone tries to rewrite history. They want it to be a 2K vs NBA Live situation and its so far from that.

If you have time, ontop of this you should watch the Madden documentary on Prime the developers who were interviewed all but admit that EA was scared to death of 2k. The development team not so much, but EA was terrified.

I’m willing to look foolish but I think people will be surprised by how easily the Knicks beat the Spurs. I’m going Knicks in 5.
I’m on an island here but I think the Knicks are severely underrated and the clear better team. Unlike the Thunder, the Knicks can win the Wemby minutes so the Spurs margin for error is much lower than it was against OKC.

I keep telling everyone. This isn't the NBA we grew up on anymore. The current version of this league is more similar to the NFL with extreme levels of parity where or the MLB where the hot team can put it together and beat anyone.
The days of needing experience and having to go through the fire & build and win in a linear fashion are done.
