John Calipari ran the Kentucky program into the ground, quit and walked away from a lifetime contract, and then inherited an Elite 8-level program from Musselman—and now everyone from the national media on down is acting like he’s a magician for winning a conference tournament. It’s honestly bizarre. People’s memories are so short.

This season was an unequivocal failure. Pope made comments all preseason about how great this group looked. Put out a 22 million dollar figure to…generate hype? And all we got was an embarrassing season and a seven seed in the tournament. While it might be true we didn’t have our PG and lottery pick…it doesn’t mean this season was any sort of successful. There should ABSOLUTELY be some hard questions asked this offseason regarding the future of this program. Not only was this roster HORRIBLY built, it was an embarrassment all season to know it was by far the most expensive roster in the country. Mark Pope should be questioned by the media and questioned HARD. But he won’t be. And nothing will change.
