Prisoners should be forced into hard labor 12 hours a day. Giving them absolutely nothing to do incentivizes violence/crime/drugs.
To gang members, prison is a fully paid vacation with no responsibilities. That needs to change. Make them work.

Just saw an 18-year-old inmate’s diary page. He says he is out in two weeks. He and his crew are grinning, flashing shanks and hitting K2 like it’s a victory lap. These kids are already treating prison like a badge of honor. They’ll be right back in if they don’t get killed first. Our criminal justice system is a pathetic joke… and you, the taxpayer, are stuck footing the bill.
