Our paper is out in Micro & #Nanoplastics! Bayesian species sensitivity distribution (#SSD) modeling for #microplastics by considering e.g., particle size and shape based on #ecotox data available in @ToMexApp. microplastics.springeropen.com/articles/10.11… In short, we need more data... 🤯A HUGE thank you to the 67 contributors from 14 countries❣️who have more than DOUBLED the data in ToMEx 2.0. That's 287 aquatic studies, and 77 mammalian studies = nearly 20,000 data points! The updated database will be exclusively available to contributors until Fall, 2023.

@ThePlastiverse @CaWaterBoards The greatest point of uncertainty in our current #microplastics thresholds is a lack of dose-response data. @ToMExApp 2.0 may provide necessary data to derive regulations to protect ecosystem health.

@ThePlastiverse High-resolution toxicity thresholds can be used by regulatory agencies like the @CaWaterBoards to assess if a beneficial use is supported by waterbody under section 303(d) the Clean Water Act.
