@catholicbuddhst Writing a swap AU where I lean into Douma’s emptiness. He slowly learns basic emotions like a baby and builds real bonds he never had. I explore his savior complex and how he dehumanizes himself. He starts as the same fake Douma from canon and evolves over time.

The wild thing is that without the fact that he murders ppl he’s already a sympathetic character bc his lack of emotions is the result of his trauma and grooming. I don’t know why people feel the need to take that away when if anything it displays the effects of his trauma on him

@Kam_epic26 @zayurreal Uzui doesn’t take part in the final strike Tanjiro decapitates Gyutaro alone, and Inosuke does the same with Daki. I think it’s kind of the same situation as Hakuji and Douma: whether they like it or not, they both experienced the attacks of those breathing styles.

@zayurreal That part is a bit weird tbh, I couldn't really tell you, maybe they mistook it for Tanjiro's sun breathing (make more sense cause he cut his head) but everything else seems correct, for example Kukushibo is on stone breathing and Daki and Gyutaro are under sound breathing

@goonphobe Not that it excuses everything, but the movie was capped at 2h35 so they had to work with that. It’s never stated Akaza only eats men, some parts just got cut. You can see they tried to keep the core story while giving the characters time, even if some stuff got dropped.

@stardyzz I get why people make the SA headcanon for Douma, and it could work if done right. The problem is when they ignore his real trauma or just don’t develop it, turning SA into some weird fetish excuse.

Hot take but the poorly disguised fetish art of Douma as a child + weird need to make Douma's childhood about SA when its unnecessary and was already bad enough genuinely pisses me off so badly on this app. It's fucking everywhere and it's disgusting and annoying.

Weak ass writing??😭 Akaza could’ve won, he chose to gave up and kill himself, his death scene itself was beautifully written, showcasing a profound acceptance of his fate as a demon and of his mortality amidst the grief he couldn't bear from his past

@veronicareet @Muzansabs Yes, but this is where the work fails. It lives on fallacies, but never shows these facts, taking away their weight. For example: Daki killed 7 hashiras, but I don't know if they were strong or important in any way, and I wouldn't even know that if I wasn't told. That is flawed.

@Tragedyempty @Muzansabs Yes, but they have killed many Hashira’s in the past. Muzan said the upper demons positions haven’t been replaced for years. Kagaya said he had some of the best assembly of Hashira’s since some era, I forgot which. Nevertheless, Kagaya’s point was proven. 🤷🏾‍♀️
