Here's a thing I've been working on pretty much solo for the past few months; I was getting tired of these "retro" games that just didn't feel truly retro to me. This is inspired some by Robloxity and Call Of Robloxia 5, intended to be about late-2013.

being blinded by nostalgia is a real thing but i hate how every time people complain abt roblox's poor choices people just say you're viewing old roblox with rose tinted glasses like no bro i just dont like what they're doing

@TrainDev1 @RBX0RCL No, age groups are a good thing. They are a good thing until they are proven sufficiently to be a bad thing. They have not been proven to be sufficiently bad. They have only been bad in the startup sense. Not enough data or time has passed to know if its bad yet.

@ShoreofOblivion I've been a Roblox developer since about 2012, it has been a VERY long time since I've seen someone make something of this beauty with their own unique build style. I checked your other posts too, absolute art. Not a build style at this point, but an art style. Keep it up!!!

@TrainDev1 @RBX0RCL Yeah it's bad, but I also admit that I'm willing to let it run it's course. It's either going to be successful or a failure. Every new thing starts in disaster at first. What happens afterwards is either a crash and burn, or a soar and glide.

Just because it has a purpose doesn't mean it isn't hated. Usually if everyone hates something, it's bad.

@Superpowamario @RBX0RCL Having age groups be separated into who can talk to who is and has already proven to be a terrible idea, because now you've given the actual predators a choice of age group that they can go after.

@Superpowamario @RBX0RCL "Legally required ID checks" sure, but locking everyone to a specific age group? No. If anything, the ID's and having everyone talk to each other would be better than segregated age groups, because if legal troubles persist then they know exactly who to send police after.

@Superpowamario @RBX0RCL I joined Roblox because I was 8 and I loved playing with Legos, Roblox was like a digital Lego world for me and I loved it. Roblox today is trying to be Imvu or Second Life and is filled with cashgrabs and AI slop. I liked the updates till around 2024, then it got rough.

@Superpowamario @RBX0RCL I joined in 2011, Roblox as of lately has been abhorrently bad. Locking chats behind an ID wall, making classic shirts a paywall item, removing classic faces, the hoards of AI ban waves, virtually no real customer service options. It's terrible.

Wanted to try something different from my usual environments. Heavily inspired by the works and imagination of @Alariko_, here's some experimentation I made using a blend of stud-like build style and 2013-2022 textures to represent ruins of past greatness. #Roblox #Robloxdevs

@ShoreofOblivion @Alariko_ I'm so tired of all the stud-spam on Roblox these days. This is easily the most refreshing and beautiful way I've seen someone implement "old" textures with new textures. 11/10 work dude
