I get the concern, but Canales isn’t giving up the offense he’s giving up the juggling act. Idzik calls it, Canales manages the whole team, and Bevell is the veteran voice keeping things grounded.🤷🏻‍♂️

Listen, all I got to say to both of you is, nobody is saying Canales was perfect. The offense was bottom tier, so criticism of his play calling is fair. But pretending the playoff run happened by accident is lazy, too. Carolina won the division because of multiple things Bryce improved, Canales stabilized the team, the team got better, and the NFC South was weak. That’s just the reality. The offense needs to improve, so Dave delegated. If Idzik fixes it, great. If it still stinks, Dave owns that, too.

I mean you're trying to have it both ways LOL We made the playoffs largely because the NFC South was trash last year. We needed help to make the playoffs. My ENTIRE point was I wanted Dave to GROW as a play caller and get better than he was last year. Not give up the responsibility completely.

@TriggaSmitty @Roppstar92 Teams whose offense is regularly in the top 10 in the NFL due to their coaches playcalling. Again, why hire an offensive minded head coach to begin with if he isn't going to call the plays? The idea was to pair him as a play caller with Bryce for the foreseeable future.

Two things can be true. Dave’s play calling deserved criticism because the offense was bottom tier in yards and points. Acting like delegating play calling automatically means he isn’t a good offensive mind, and is lazy. Reid, Payton, and McCarthy have all delegated before that is true. Canales still owns the offensive vision. Idzik is just calling it now. If it works, cool. If it fails, Dave still gets the blame.

You're using this "y'all" very liberally. But 2 things can be true. Dave's playcalling was and should have been nitpicked all last year for a number of reasons. My gripe is him automatically delegating those duties to someone else the moment it got tough. NOW if the offense is a great this year, Brad Idzik is out the door along with the Panthers play caller And what about coaches like Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, Ben Johnson, Matt LaFleur. ON TOP of that, you CANNOT compare Dave to any of those coaches you mentioned at this point in his career as all of those guys are proven play callers.
