Has to be the day we were both working. I made breakfast before I resumed work, then it turned into a busy day with back-to-back meetings. He came in and said, “As a woman, don’t you know it’s time to prepare lunch?” Then he went on to say that if he were rating me based on “homeliness,” I’d be a 2 because I don’t care once I get on my laptop. But every other thing is a 10 because I function well there. And my overachieving, food-skipping self was like, “What the hell? You can’t find food for yourself to eat? I’m working. I made breakfast, and you closed early, get us something to eat.” Yeah, I knew right then I couldn’t be with him. I’m looking for a partner, not a liability. I made dinner and I burnt the rice because I was working nigga was crashing out lol.

Well this settles the “ only women are loved unconditionally” conversation then. As a woman, let your fiancé go for a check up before you marry him. -HIV, - Hepatitis B and C, they can be silent but serious - Other STIs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis - Prostate issues, especially if there’s family history - Infertility in men, low sperm count is a real thing - Diabetes, because it can affect long term health and even fertility - Hypertension, silent but dangerous - Sickle cell genotype, for compatibility and future children - Mental health conditions, because emotional stability matters too It’s my piece of advice for you this morning
