This intervention group is working on hearing and writing words with blends while removing the initial consonant to make a new word.

Students in Mrs. Looks' first grade classroom use a collaborative engagement strategy to share what they know about nouns and verbs! One student even laid herself on the paper since she is a noun! Visible thinking in action!

Positive Phone Call Friday happened yesterday since it was the last day of our school week! It's always the best day of the week!

One of our goals this year at VES is student engagement! These first graders are using self reflection, spinners and universal response opportunities to engage in their lesson!

Students in Mrs. Falknor’s Kindergarten class earned tokens to buy books from the book machine! Every class has the opportunity to earn them each month for demonstrating positive behavior in their classrooms!
