Back to the Future Then & Now
Back to the Future (1985), directed by Robert Zemeckis, stars Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown — a duo that defined an entire generation of sci-fi cinema.
The story follows Marty traveling through time in a modified DeLorean DMC-12, trying to fix the past while protecting his own future. The adventure continued with Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III, turning it into one of the most beloved trilogies ever.
Behind the scenes, the franchise also faced loss — Bob Gale and the team paid tribute to cast and crew over the years, including James Tolkan’s co-stars, while fans especially remember Crispin Glover’s absence in later films. Most notably, actress Wendie Jo Sperber, who played Linda McFly, sadly passed away in 2005 after battling cancer.
Years later, the legacy of Back to the Future still lives on through its timeless story and unforgettable characters.
