No one is saying that Tifa won't have a role or isn't important. She'll continue to have the same role she had in the OG and will continue to appear and be relevant to the LSS. The devs are not diminishing her role; it's just that you need to understand that from the beginning, she only had a supporting role. She's not the core character, she's not the protagonist, she's not the one who drives the story. It is not the one who unites everything. She's not the main character. Her role has always been secondary, and I'm not saying that to be derogatory. Secondary is not synonymous with irrelevant. She's a secondary character, and that's not a bad thing in any way, nor does it diminish her value. Her fans need to understand that, otherwise they'll always be disappointed when reality meets their absurd expectations.

@vanityplagued unfortunately people only see their ship. They never actually pay attention to Aerith's effect on the entire party.

Also! Can we talk about the fact that the only one who knows about Tifa's doubt is... guess who? AERITH. Now imagine pouring your heart out about your concerns, you work together to keep an eye on Cloud and then SHE DIES. Does nobody gaf how Tifa feels about that? Come on now.

They've gaslit themselves and convinced themselves that Tifa is the main heroine, when it has always been established that Aerith is. Now that canon events and official posts are proving them wrong, they're getting upset because their headcanon doesn't match the actual story.
