@KupoGames Nexomon and Coronon are probably your best examples of Pokemon clones that do just enough to be legally acceptable.

Legally speaking, how much of a Pokemon clone could you get away with making? What if ROM hackers used RPGmaker, didn't use official characters or assets, and changed mechanics slightly, but the vibe was exactly like Pokemon? Could they sell it?

Judging just by user reviews and vibes on Twitter, there's been a TON of great games this past week or two: Gori, Crypt Custodian, Sumerian Six, Arco, The Crimson Diamond, Bakeru, Akimbot, 9-Bit Armies, Bloodless... But only a couple (good on Tactical Breach Wizards) are selling.

If you liked Shadow Tactics, you will probably love Sumerian Six. Same genre, similar play style, and a wider variety of (kinda OP) character abilities to play with.

@Leaderkilla It's so good. I finished recording a video and immediately kept playing for another hour just for the pure fun of melting Nazis in various ways. I'm looking forward to bear blasting them too.

@Wanderbots kinda op is underestimating the power of melting a whole nazi alive while his buddy walks towards a group with a bomb strapped to his chest because you threw a fart grenade. This game is awesome and is a power fantasy i enjoy

This isn't, "We're fine with AI." It's, "F*ck you if you aren't." And despite so many people with disabilities speaking out against generative AI in creativity, some are still propping them up as human shields to try and dodge legitimate criticisms. It's gross.

That said, it'll be going 100% free on the Internet Archive after it gets delisted, so it'll never truly go away- so if you miss the deal or don't have the cash, you won't miss out at all.

This is sad. Beacon is one of those actually great (and great looking) roguelikes that never found its audience. It would have been a mega-hit back in 2014/15, but roguelike fans had probably moved on from twin stick shooters by 2021. $4 is a steal if you want a steam copy.
