Dropping Viktor Gyokeres for Kai Havertz against Manchester City was a huge gamble that simply did not pay off. We need our most clinical finishers on the pitch when the margins are this incredibly tight.

I feel you and I also agree with you But the we all know Havertz strength is his off the ball movement so it worked by getting us those chances We can’t beat our chest that Gyokeres would have been in those positions at that time I still agree that Gyokeres would have finished those chances tho

@prodigalson_jay The goal was just a rebound from a Donnarumma error and he missed several big chances during the game. Gyokeres is simply more clinical and would have definitely put at least one of those away.

Last thing I’ll say on Havertz for the time being. At the end of the day, it’s how you view it. You can view it from the lens that he cost us yesterday, missing big chances. Fine. And yes he’s regularly at the scene of the crime in front of goal. But at least he is in the position to impact proceedings, constantly. And all strikers miss chances. I’m not comparing the two, but Erling Haaland for example, regularly misses big chances. Just go and ask Citeh fans. He missed two yesterday! But his movement generates high volume. Kai also generates volume. Personally, I’m a little more forgiving with chances missed. That’s just me. I was the same with Gabriel Jesus because I place greater importance on how the team functions.
