@_Rhill_07 They’ll start whenever they want. Can’t base regulations around illegal activity, gotta do what’s best for the resource. Our numbers are coming back and it would be unwise to change that right now IMO.

@WildTurkeyReprt I think the season starting later has improved turkey numbers in SW AL. However, when it comes to people that try to do it right and manage a piece of property I think it hurts. It gives the people who don’t do it the right way, or hunt before the season a time period to do so.

AL youth season was today and based on the sheer amount of pics, the turkeys are in the right frame of mind It’s almost like seasons starting later means better hunting or something

Wild turkeys with multiple beards or spurs are unique and prized to turkey hunters. Why some toms have >1 beard or spur on a leg is unclear, but the primary beard or spur is usually longer. Anyone shot a tom with >1 beard or spur? ⁦@wildturkeylab⁩ ⁦@NWTF_official⁩
