Oak Learning Zone

Oak learners have been busy discovering more about shapes. We hunted for different shapes in the garden and some learners created a fantastic shape rocket. They enjoyed counting down for blast off! 🚀

We loved seeing some of the fantastic minibeasts our learners created as part of their home learning. Today they have also been busy writing minibeast riddles!

Oak learners had fun discovering minibeasts in the woods yesterday. We love learning in the natural environment!

We've loved developing our jumping skills in Being an Athlete this term. These learners have been practising their jumping in the garden. We saw lots of great take offs and landings! #wfaathletes

Oak learners were great Teamwork Bees today enjoying collaborative construction with the large blocks. These children constructed a large scale model of a magical flying house!

What a great week it's been and a great way to finish it off- curiosity and imagination, resilience and teamwork bees! Oak learners' finding ways to save the gingerbread man, Acer creating collages and Maple representing the insects they've been researching!

We are so looking forward to welcoming all of our learners back into Oak Learning Zone this week! We cannot wait to be learning all together again!

We have been discovering what we can create with 10 black dots and exploring different groups that add to total 10. Here we have 6 grapes and 4 cherries and also 5 pairs of whales' eyes. Fantastic home learning! #WFAmathematicians

In Oak we have been learning about the importance of good mental health and talking about how we are feeling. We are using some of the wellbeing ideas on our Mindful March calendar.

Oak learners have loved discovering about Chinese New Year this week. Here you can see some of the brilliant learning that has happened at home: creating dragon masks, dancing and preparing dumplings to eat!

There has been some brilliant mathematical learning happening at home this week. The children in Oak have been exploring capacity and then challenging themselves to order containers with liquid /objects in them from empty to full. Fantastic ordering skills!
