Comparing our reported fatality figures day-to-day is utterly pointless. The virus isn't deadlier on Tuesdays and it doesn't take the weekend off as the data suggests. The registration system for deaths works slower at the weekend hence the fluctuations as the numbers catch up.

@ProfKarolSikora Prof - can you just clarify those numbers, are they all hospitals only or do the later ones include Carehomes etc...

Regardless of which countries are doing better or worse, the situation here improves every day. These comparison tables are pointless & misleading - the numbers to compare are our averages. 649 today vs 795, 837, 842 & 1034 on previous Wednesdays shows the clear decline.
