What is the biggest lesson that employment has taught you?

Unpopular opinion: Big 4 “stress” is more of who you’re working with than the work itself. God hates you, you work with a partner that can over promise clients to win bids or in a disorganized team with a senior that doesn’t know how to delegate.

Picture this! 
You enter a Big 4 firm as a fresh, innocent human being. At this point, you just want to add value to yourself so you can shape your future with confidence. Week 1:
Free food. Free pen. Everybody is calling you “dear.”
You’re thinking, “Wow, corporate life is soft.” Week 3: You have started jumping on calls, 12 teams call a day for a call that could’ve been an email, and somehow, you are still expected to inspire confidence and empower change Month 2:
You’re on a job where your partner has over promised the client and now, you have to work like elephant to meet an impossible deadline. Your client is closing by 4pm but you just want to go and eat lunch by 7pm. You can’t go home since your team members are still working aggressively and you have to work together to make progress Excel, PowerPoint and whatever software you use will become your best friends. Month 5:
Teams will start sounding like your village people.
You now say things like “loop me in” and “what’s the timeline?” unprovoked. E don dey enter your blood Year 1:
Your social life is always Out of office.
Your skin? Nothing to write home about. You can’t even remember the last time you wore makeup to work
 So what makes it toxic?
Not just one thing oo.
It’s the combo of unrealistic deadlines, confused clients, vague instructions, back‑to‑back calls, and the unspoken rule that being offline is a crime. Lest I forget, you are probably doing the job of 3 different people, and handling 3 clients at a time.
