The FG inspects CNG conversion kits in Kano under the presidential Pi-CNG & EV initiative. Officials from the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (PiCNG & EV) has visited a warehouse in Kano to inspect part of the 100,000 conversion kits and cylinders intended for tricycles, cars, and buses. According to Ismaeel Ahmed, Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNG), Kano State has registered approximately 76 conversion centres, with 41 already actively performing conversions. Ahmed described the developments as an indication of readiness and adoption at the grassroots level. He noted that the initiative is proceeding with the urgency directed by the President, stating that implementation is underway and initial impacts are emerging in key areas. He said, “It is encouraging to see the scale of work already underway. Kano State alone has registered about 76 conversion centres, with 41 already actively carrying out conversions. This is a strong signal of both readiness and adoption at the grassroots level. “What is most gratifying is witnessing this come to fruition with the immediacy directed by Mr. President. We are not just planning, we are delivering, and the impact is beginning to take shape across key corridors. “This is how we build a truly competitive, affordable, and accessible energy future for mobility in Nigeria.”
