@AmbHideoSuzuki Bravo à vos braves Samurai Blue.

Moriyasu remembers when Japan was a football underdog. He experienced the Agony of Doha, when the World Cup was only a dream. Today, Japan can compete with anyone. For someone who has seen that entire journey, tears during the national anthem make perfect sense.

🚨Steven Gerrard on Mo Salah performance against Belgium in their World Cup opener and also on his birthday. 🗣️“You will never get tired of watching 90min football of Mo Salah, his impact and influence in games are on a different level than expected. Today on his birthday he showed again why he’s called Egyptian king, his transition and ability on the ball just never get faded”

THE RELATIONSHIP IS COMPLETELY BROKEN! 🇰🇷💔📰 The South Korean national team have decided to cut ties with the country’s press after an audio leaked in which several journalists mocked their captain, Son Heung-min. The response from the team was immediate: total silence. After the victory against Czech Republic, Son ignored all questions in the mixed zone, while the federation canceled all scheduled individual interviews. The situation escalated so badly that the Korean Federation publicly reprimanded the media outlets covering the World Cup. To make matters worse, the head of press for the delegation RESIGNED, taking responsibility for failing to control the journalists’ behavior. 🚨 The relationship between the South Korean national team and the media is now at its lowest point ever. Respect your captain. Respect your players.

🚨EMBARRASSING DISASTER AT SOUTH KOREA'S TRAINING SESSION! A careless slip-up exposed a private conversation between two reporters covering the national team's practice. While watching Heung-min Son's intense physical drills, one of them fired off a jab: "Why's he running like he's leading a military platoon? Does he think he's in the army?" The comeback was even more controversial: "He didn't even complete his military service. These idiots know nothing about the army." 🎙️ Both had their mics on, and everything was caught on the broadcast. 😭

🚨🎙️Pep Guardiola Reacts to the Biggest Surprise of the World Cup after Spain draw against Cape Verde: “This World Cup is exposing one of the biggest lies in football: that big teams are supposed to beat everyone. People keep saying, ‘How did that happen?’ every time a so-called small nation gets a result. For me, the real question is: why are you still surprised? The gap is gone. Football has evolved. The teams you laugh at today have analysts, top coaches, elite players and a clear identity. Some of the biggest countries are arriving with more followers than ideas. Look at this tournament. The underdogs are not surviving, they are competing, dominating moments and taking points from teams that live off reputation. History is beautiful, but history doesn’t score goals. The badge doesn’t run. The trophy cabinet doesn’t press. The name on the front of the shirt means nothing if the players wearing it are not better on the day. And maybe that’s why so many fans are struggling to accept what’s happening. They still think football is played on paper. This World Cup is proving it’s not. The biggest teams in the tournament right now are not the most famous ones. They are the ones playing the best football.” [fictional]

IKER CASILLAS ON JAPAN’S GOALKEEPER (SUZUKI) AFTER THE NETHERLANDS GAME: “Football is strange sometimes. You can watch a match filled with world class attackers, big names, expensive talent… and somehow, the player everyone leaves talking about is the goalkeeper. That happened yesterday. I have watched goalkeepers for most of my life. I know the difference between a keeper having a ‘good game’ and a keeper controlling the emotions of an entire stadium. What Japan’s goalkeeper did against the Netherlands was far beyond a normal performance. You can teach reflexes. You can teach positioning. But you cannot teach mentality. That boy played without fear yesterday. Against a team with that much attacking quality, most goalkeepers panic. They lose concentration after one mistake, they start second-guessing themselves, they become nervous under pressure. He did the exact opposite. He looked calm, focused… almost arrogant in the best way possible. Every save gave confidence to his defenders. Every touch looked composed. Even when the pressure increased, he never looked affected. At one point, I genuinely celebrated because I thought the ball was already in the net… and somehow he still kept it out. People will remember the scoreline. I will remember the goalkeeper. Trust me… after this tournament, Europe will know his name.”
