Last night was a stepping stone to bigger things coming for the Lady Wildcats! Played a great game vs. Klein Collins but came up short. Proud is an understatement for this TEAM! Thank you to all the players, staff, parents, and admin for their support this year! #212 @CyWoods212

Parents, fair warning. I don’t care how good you think your kid is or isn’t.There will come a point and time where you have no say so.There will come a point and time where they aren’t one of the best ones. Prepare yourself and prepare you son\daughter for that cuz it will happen

Nothing but gratitude for the opportunity to spend the last 25 years on the sidelines for the Jackets! The 16 seasons of football and 16 seasons of girls basketball have created a lifetime of memories. My deepest appreciation to Greenville Community!

Game 1: Greenville used their press to force turnovers in bunches to go on an 11-0 run to turn a slim 1-pt edge into a 22-10 lead by the middle of the 2nd qtr & added a 16-0 run spanning the half to build their biggest lead at 40-15. Kent City responded by scoring 12 straight to cut the margin to 13 at 40-27, but could get no closer as Greenville takes a 54-35 victory. Fr Sophie Clevenger (pictured-c) attacked the basket smoothly & often to finish with a game-high 18 points, while also adding a team-high 6 rebounds. 6' jr Lauren Russell (pictured-l) was a tough matchup inside forcing KC to foul her repeatedly; she hit 8-for-10 on FTs & recorded 12 points. Fr Briana Russell (pictured-r) was aggressive in the middle of the press, picking up 6 steals while adding 9 points & 5 rebounds. Unofficial Stats: For @GHSGirlsBB : Fr Sophie Clevenger (5'10" SF) w/ 18p-6r-3s w/ 6-for-6 on FTs Jr Lauren Russell (6' C) w/ 12p-4r Fr Briana Russell (5'8" W) w/ 9p-5r-6s Soph Burgess Massengale (5'9" W) w/ 6p For @KCGirlsHoops : Sr @HaileyKamphuis (5'5" G) w/ 12p Soph @KenzyFreeland (5'8" SF) w/ 11p-7r-3b Jr @milah_mollien (5'4" G) w/ 7p-4r-3a-3s

The majority of HS athletes won’t play at the next level. The HS athletic experience should be built around what’s best for those athletes, not the few who are lucky enough to continue to play. Build your program to include all of your kids. HS sports should be about HS athletes!

I sent this message to my coaching staff today. A reminder for our opening game tonight. Tonight is a great night to showcase our transformational coaching style. This includes how we handle ourselves on the sidelines with the kids, opponent and refs. Especially the refs. Let’s not get distracted or detoured based on their calls or the trajectory of the game. 1) coach your position players. 2) stay positive expecting good things to happen. 3) l encourage/remind the kids on the sidelines that they have a role. 4) when mistakes happen we need to coach them through it, and then strive to do better. 5) we set the tone and attitude for the team. Let’s lead by example!
