The launch coincided with a kickoff of a national hands-on training on #GHG emissions inventories using R programming of Tier 2 IPCC guidelines, strengthening MRV systems and the preparation of BTR @REMA_Rwanda @RwandaAgriBoard @RwandaAgri.

Today, @olivikam, Permanent Secretary at @RwandaAgri & @FAORwanda Representative @awdahir, officially launched a new report on Livestock Climate Action in Rwanda, covering #NDC and policy alignment and #methane mitigation scenarios by 2050. Read it here: bit.ly/4ulFgEl

This evening, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined thousands of Rwandan youth for the annual Walk to Remember and Night Vigil at BK Arena, as part of the #Kwibuka32 remembrance activities, where young Rwandans stand together to uphold the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

On this day, we pause to remember the genocide against the Tutsi people in Rwanda, 32 years ago. May the memory of all the victims be a solemn reminder that the duty to prevent atrocities is one we must never set aside.

On the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, we mourn the victims & pay tribute to the survivors. We must learn from past failures & protect the living — by rejecting hatred, inflammatory rhetoric & incitement to violence.

It was inspiring to watch the Artemis II launch yesterday — @NASA’s first crewed mission around the moon since 1972. Our space program has always captured an essential part of what it means to reach beyond what we thought was possible, and I hope the four brave astronauts on this mission will inspire a new generation to follow in their footsteps.

PS Prof Dr Obert Jiri today launched a programme targeting a 20% cut in beef methane emissions by 2030. Backed by FAO & CCAC, it addresses livestock’s 43.6% methane share through improved feeding, genetics & management, aligning with NDS 2 and NDC 3.0.
