At what point do we discuss moving on from Austin Wells? I know Cashman probably considers him Johnny Bench, but he simply can’t hit in the big leagues

One thing I will never understand is why the Yankees are so adamant about being luxury tax compliant 364/365 days a year but annually make one deal for an expensive veteran with a high risk profile. They refuse to pay around an extra ~$10M every offseason for an elite player
