2. begin a list of "what ifs". writing is a habit & imaginative thinking is a skill. building both requires practice. a list of what-ifs based on anything - random thoughts, small things noticed - will help develop that muscle. "what if that bird in front of me could talk?"

1. study the classics. fairytales, Shakespeare, the literature we were forced to read in school. seems pedantic + traditional, but the classics have the foundations, structures, & styles that even the most talented writers start with. i'll be starting with fairytales 🦄

do you ever have work days that feel so busy + then at the end of the day you realize all you did was swipe back & forth b/n browser pages for 8 hrs? cool, same.

We really need to normalize boredom. Some of your most creative moments come during periods of boredom. In the shower, on a walk, at a dinner by yourself. You’re bored, your mind wanders, your thoughts mingle. Bam! Creative insight strikes. Normalize periods of boredom.
