5 things I wish I knew before trading NQ futures 🧵
1/ The spread matters more than you think. NQ has a typical spread of 0.25–0.50 points. On 10 MNQ that's $5–$10 per trade. Every entry and exit costs you money. Trade less, not more.
2/ Asia session moves are cleaner than NY session. Less news. Less volume. More predictable ranges. 7 PM CT is when smart money sets direction for the night.
3/ Your stop placement is more important than your entry. Most traders focus on where to get in. The ATR stop placement is what keeps you in winning trades.
4/ The consistency rule will cost you a payout if you don't know it. No single day can be more than 50% of your total profit on Apex. Have a huge day? Stop trading. Protect it.
5/ Nervousness = position size is too big. It's not a mindset problem. It's a math problem. Size down until you feel nothing. Then scale back up.

How prop firm payouts actually work (most people get this wrong) 🧵
1/ You don't just "pass an evaluation and get paid." There are rules most traders don't know until they get denied.
2/ Apex $50K requires: → 5 qualifying days → $250 minimum profit per day → No single day over 50% of total profit.
3/ That last rule destroys people. Have a $1,000 day first? Every other day now needs to add up to more than $1,000.
4/ The smart play: Hit $250–400 per day. Stop trading. Protect the day. Repeat 5 times.
5/ At 10 MNQ contracts you only need 12.5 points to hit $250. NQ averages 80–150 points in Asia session alone. You need less than 10% of the session range.
6/ Most traders blow accounts chasing big days. The payout game is about consistency — not size.
