agree with this sentiment but when the characterization is so off that it doesn’t resemble the character at all, i have to question what the fun is in that. you have to at least give some effort otherwise do you even like the character or do you just like the character design?

i dont care about mischaracterisation in fanworks. in truth, no character can truly be correctly characterised unless written/drawn by the creator themself. some people get so hung up on characterisation that they dont even let themselves enjoy the content in front of them.
