At the end of the day for me, I couldn’t care less what people wear so to disagree with clothing is ridiculous to me, unless of course it’s something like a Sock as you said 😂

Fwiw I wouldn’t ban it, as you said, at the end of the day it is just a piece of clothing but if we’re saying that then we have to say then it’s fine for people to not be okay with it. I think also a lot of people feel it’s only a one way street, those same women in burqas are probably not happy with women walking around with their tits out when at the day that’s just a piece of clothing and that wouldn’t be allowed in the middle east

Why are you not allowed to disagree with the burqa? No one’s ever called me racist for disagreeing with it? I have Muslim friends who’s parents wear burqas, they know I don’t agree with it, I’m not rude about it and they’re normal people who understand that different cultures do sometimes disagree with it?

@chelssufferer You are correct in how most cultures operate in their own communities. To argue Middle East and Asian cultures wouldn’t accept British pub culture is quite different however. Britain brought many cultures to the country to help develop, they’d been forced to adapt.

It hasn’t though, most Chinese, Jewish, Muslim, Eastern Europeans all move and operate within their own communities, it’s a completely normal thing to do as humans. Also it’s not just the Middle East, most asian cultures wouldn’t accept British pub culture storming their countries and that is also fine and we should not force that upon them just because of multiculturalism

@chelssufferer What would you argue to those that wear it and tell you it isn’t oppressive? I’m not sure where in the uk you live, but London has certainly successfully intertwined cultures. The Middle East is a different discussion entirely I feel like however, especially third world ones.

It’s oppressive imo, there may be women now who willingly wear it but that’s only because of the generational oppression that preceded it, now it’s become apart of another culture and that’s fine, I don’t think cultures can be successfully intertwined at mass anyway, I wouldn’t expect the Middle East to accept British culture and I’m sure they wouldn’t like it either and that’s fine
