Also called leadership. What is the damage from the fire, $400 billion? What are the annual insurance costs that will now pay only a small fraction of replacing that, $30-40 Billion? Three nuclear power plants and a dozen massive de-salinization plants would cost about $70 billion (without regulatory delays), provide all the electricity California ever needed, and provide enough water to turn Southern California into a rainforest (and put out fires!). Why is no one talking or thinking like this? If this were Saudi Arabia this would have already been done 30 years ago. And all that water would double or triple California’s farmland production. This is not @elonmusk rocket science this is working technology that’s been around for 50+ years.

This is among the scripture I pull on frequently. I started leaning into it in the very tough days of USAF pilot training. And then, again and again, when flying into harm’s way, whether combat or special operations. I encourage you to lean on it when times are challenging: Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Amen. There are ~30 million illegal immigrants in the country. Deporting them requires funding ICE and finishing the border wall. But it also requires changing the incentives that keep illegal immigration economically viable. 4 things Congress should do immediately: 1. Remittance taxes and transfer restrictions 2. Mandatory E-Verify 3. No taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens 4. Federal funding cutoffs for sanctuary jurisdictions Fund ICE. Enforce consequences. Restore the rule of law.

Still find it absolutely crazy that the city of Chicago signed away all their revenue from parking meters for 75 years to Abu Dhabi The economics of the deal are insane too and here is the story of how the deal came together In 2008, Mayor Richard Daley initiated a 75 year lease of all 36,000 of Chicago's parking meters for $1.15 billion Important context here is that this was during the global financial crisis when cities were having trouble raising tax revenues The buyer was an LLC joint venture between Morgan Stanley, Allianz Capital and Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund. The exact splits were never disclosed but it is estimated that Abu Dhabi controls the majority position through a 50%+ stake The deal was extremely mispriced. In 2009, economists conservatively underpriced the deal by nearly $900M, giving Abu Dhabi nearly a 40%+ discount on the fair value of the asset Between 2009 and 2024 alone, the lease generated $1.97B in revenue. So just within 15 years, the revenue generated already well exceeded the $1.15B price tag and there are still 57 years left on the contract The craziest part of the contract? The true-up payments. Chicago agreed that if a metered spot became unavailable for any reason, including parades, street maintenance, bike lanes or outdoor seating, the city will compensate the joint venture for any projected losses This also includes if a metered spot later becomes an EV charging station. The city will go out of its way to make the investors whole on any revenue lost. From an investor's POV, it has to be one of the best infrastructure deals ever made

you're villifying the wrong people and arguing by false equivalence, simon. people still trust science, they just do not trust "science imposed upon them by experts at the point of a gun." no one is saying "airplanes don't fly" or "computers don't compute." they are saying "you lied about climate change, epidemiology, trade offs with products like roundup, GRAS designations, nutrition, race, gender, and 500 other topics>' and many of these criticisms have validity. and in response, the experts blame the questioner and demand deference. and those who refuse to engage on facts rarely have the facts on their side. trust was lost because "the experts" proved not only untrustworthy, but outright dictatorial. they faked evidence and data, made up wild pseudoscientific theories, and vilified sound science, and pushed utter fakery in its place. they censored opposition and claimed "the science was settled" to prevent investigation into their frauds. and they forced the whole world at the expense of lives and trillions of dollars of lost welfare to play along. it was high handed, dishonest, tyranny. have you stopped to consider that they earned this loss of faith? because they did. MIT wrote a literal article about "anti mask twitter" which it vilified by claiming “most fundamentally, the groups we studied believe that science is a process, not an institution.” as though it proved we had somehow turned our backs on science. but we did not. science is and must be a process. it is never an institution. that's dogma, not the methods of bacon. we did not stop trusting science, the experts stopped performing it and were dancing around in the flensed skinsuit of scientific method that they had stripped from the bones that made it valid: dispute, dissent, replication, validation - open and honest discourse. if you want to win back trust, you need to restore open debate and engagement, share methods, means, and data. wailing about "they won't trust us!" and blaming the folks who called out the deviation from sound science is just another arrogant presumption for institutions to dictate doctrine. you want to respect for sceince? start respecting to process of science again.

Many of you on the left are commenting that the decision was 4-3, as if the math somehow changes what actually happened. Four Justices on the Virginia Supreme Court canceled the votes of every person who voted “yes.” All the money. All the effort. Cancelled. I know it is easy to blame the Court for what happened today. But here is the absolute truth: The Virginia Democrats broke the law. They did it openly, blatantly, and with complete disregard for the consequences. They believed they were untouchable because they controlled the executive branch and the legislative branch. The acted like mob bosses with no accountability. But in a government with checks and balances - the Courts always have the final say. Your vote was not canceled because four justices woke up and decided to invalidate an election. Your vote was canceled because Virginia Democrats put the Court in a position where the law required intervention. You should absolutely be angry that your vote was taken away. But be angry at the people who ignored the law and caused this mess in the first place. If Democrats had simply followed the Constitution and done it correctly, none of this would have happened.

I don’t think people understand just how much of an existential crisis Democrats are in. If they don’t gain control of the House, Senate, Presidency, pack the Supreme Court, re-mandate racial gerrymandering, and give illegals mass amnesty by 2032, they will all but die as a nationally competitive political party. With the VRA being overturned we will net at least 15 seats and the census will give us like a dozen more, as well as forcing democrats to redraw their seats being bolstered by illegals, making them more republican. This will make the house all but impossible to win for Dems. Then the senate will become increasingly hard for them to win as states like Nevada keep shifting red and republicans slowly keep picking better candidates. And the nail in the coffin? The census will make it all but impossible for dems to win the presidency unless they win the popular vote by at least 6 points. We’re witnessing the last gasps of the satanic ideology known as leftism. We will win.

🇺🇸💰 Ever wonder why European cities accepted so many refugees? Today, I'm over my jet lag and processing the documents I scanned this week. Already it's pretty shocking. The refugee influx into Europe began as a U.S. taxpayer-funded subsidy. The U.S. government literally paid European cities to take them in, using Soros-backed operations like ARC (American Refugee Committee) as the middlemen. Yes, ARC, co-founded with money from the Soros Humanitarian Fund, was running programs directly for the U.S. government. It goes even deeper and darker than that. Stay tuned.

And then of course there’s the engineering question: how is energy transferred to the battery, which is of course in a constant state of being drained, and what energy source charges the battery, and how do you charge the battery when the sun is not shining and/or wind is not blowing? It’s basic both engineering and economics: 125 years ago the world turned to ICE for engines and any type of sensical energy source not generated by oil/gas/nuclear is still not economical. We’ve not reached the technology point where solar makes sense.

What a stupid comment. Try building a battery-powered rocket ship, or a battery-powered passenger jet airliner that can travel thousands of miles without refueling. Build a battery-powered cruise ship, a battery-powered big-deck aircraft carrier for the Navy. Can you do that successfully and make it marketable? Such technology is either next to impossible to develop, or is a long ways off at best. The real world doesn’t conform to your academic utopian mindset.

If you spend a week in any city on the left coast you will know the answer: leftist propaganda which would make Goebbels proud. Listen to any newscast (local TV news) and/or open any newspaper there, and you are bombarded with leftist filtering and twisting of the truth. Everything is reported with this liberal agenda, and basic common sense disappears. So boys and men competing against your daughters in sports and appearing in your daughters bathrooms becomes ok, rather than something against the thinking of basic common sense; giving needles to drug addicts is compassion, etc etc etc.
