Antisemitism is abhorrent! So is Israel’s continuing genocide against the people of Palestine. These are not mutually contradictory statements.

New John Farnham tribute on the streets of Brisbane. We got 2 strong hearts, reaching out forever like a river to the sea… 🎶🔊⬆️ Did you know that the music video to John Farnham’s “2 Strong hearts” was filmed in 1988 on Queensland’s Gold Coast? Today in 2026 you could land yourself in jail for 2 years for singing (or painting) his lyrics in a public space 🤷‍♂️ ⭐️ In preperation for this mural I discovered @nordacious had created a digital artwork with the same premise, give him a follow and scoop some his merch 🙏 #Rivertothesea #queensland #johnfarnham #freespeech #freeexpression

The Two Tongues of Anthony Albanese. Albanese to Australians: We have not made a constructive contribution to the Iran war. Trump to Albanese: You have not made a constructive contribution to the Iran war. Albanese to Trump; We have made a constructive contribution to the Iran war. Therein lies the problem.
Al Jazeera Breaking News@AJENews

Australia’s PM Anthony Albanese says his government has made a “constructive” contribution to the US-Israeli war on Iran. The comments follow criticism from US President Trump who said Australia’s support “was not great”.

AUKUS is not just headed for a train smash. It’s not just a wasteful folly. It is dragging us deeper and deeper into Donald Trump’s war plans. Best time to have axed AUKUS was in 2022 after Labor won government. Next best time is now. smh.com.au/politics/feder…

🚨 BREAKING Spain breaks diplomatic ties with Israel. Madrid has just recalled its ambassador and is planning to close its embassy in Tel Aviv. Israel condemned the move, calling it "highly antisemitic." Antisemitism is hatred of Jews. Criticizing Israel is not hatred of Jews. Zionism is not Judaism.

When Crean passed away all the obituaries acknowledged this as his defining moment in politics, because subsequent events vindicated his moral position against the war. But Labor pygmies around him interpreted it as fatal to power, so seem averse to ever taking a stand again.

@DougCameron51 The last Labor leader to oppose the USA was Simon Crean & look how long his leadership lasted afterwards? #auspol #aukus thebulletin.net.au/news/31222-a-t… smh.com.au/national/simon…

@NorthrnPrspectv I'm a US citizen and have been to Xinjiang every year for three years. Uygurs freely move about, use their own language, and practice Islam freely. Israel is conducting a REAL genocide in Gaza.

There is a mythology the U.S. built around the American War in Vietnam. It goes like this: Young idealistic soldiers were sent into an unwinnable situation by confused politicians. They came home broken and unappreciated. It was a tragedy. A mistake. A lesson learned. Notice what that story does. It centers Americans. Their trauma. Their confusion. Their homecoming. Their feelings. In this story, the Vietnamese people are a backdrop. A jungle. An obstacle. An abstraction. Three million dead Vietnamese people are the scenery for a story about American self-discovery. They made hundreds of movies about Vietnam. The Deer Hunter. Apocalypse Now. Platoon. Full Metal Jacket. Born on the Fourth of July. Hamburger Hill. Count how many of them center a Vietnamese character with a full human life, a family, a name you remember after the credits roll. They turned our genocide into their coming-of-age story. They lost the war and still managed to make themselves the main character. And then, with extraordinary arrogance, they put their soldiers' names on a wall in Washington and call it a memorial, as if the dead to be mourned were the people who flew 10,000 miles to do the killing. Where is the wall for our three million? There isn't one. Because in their telling, we were never quite real enough to mourn.

Brazilian President Breaks Down in Tears Over the Suffering of the Palestinian People Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva could not hold back his tears in the face of the suffering of the Palestinian people: “It is painful that the world remains silent in the face of such a genocide, where the real victims are not soldiers, but women and children.”

So Marles won’t give a “running” commentary on Trump’s disgusting attack on Australia and hasn’t ruled out securing the Straight of Hormuz. Rule it out or explain how we could do this. Would we send troops, military personnel? What has he been saying to his mad mate Hegseth?

I’ll tell you what would be great: Just one Labor politician with the intestinal fortitude to tell Trump and Netanyahu to get nicked! Just one who calls for Labor to abandon the madness of AUKUS. Just one who stands against appeasement of US and Israeli warmongering. Just one!
