It was about trauma, guilt, and blame that made him feel unworthy of coaching ever again. This episode started so beautifully. The team was shipping their teachers, there was that gorgeous little running bit (the PD really knows how to direct these moments), and we had that near confession when he caught her from tripping. But then more Spade Q details surfaced, Jason's mother showed up to lay on the guilt, and he made the hurried call to leave. The boys' heartbreak was palpable when they hugged him at the farewell meal. Tears everywhere. It felt like a father walking out on his kids. And can we talk about the casting? Everyone absolutely nailed their emotional scenes.
