so yes releasing a song about loving ppl who are cancelled when “cancellation” has in large part been used to refer to the deplatforming of people with bigoted views and content during a time when those bigoted views are becoming increasingly mainstream is tone deaf at best

artists are a product of their environment and taylor’s environment is very heavily tied to the extremely fraught political climate she lives in so my main gripe isn’t what it means for the songs themselves but what it means for her as a person
