@TheHustle @Eve6 They should sign better record deals (or not sign a bad one!)…this kind of clickbaity stance is super reductive and one sided. I run a label with 30+ artists who are all very happy to be earning good revenues from Spotify and on an equitable & fair deal too.

The artists’ share of the ⅓ of a cent per stream is even smaller. They typically receive less than half of what Spotify pays the label.
Some artists, like @eve6 say their label, Sony, keeps *all* their streaming royalties.
