When he turned 18, no one came. The promise was never fulfilled. No FIR was ever registered for the negligence that left an open borewell in the middle of a village. No contractor was ever held accountable. He completed his ITI course from Ambala City. He is currently doing an apprenticeship. He does not like talking about 2006. He said this. When someone asks me what happened 20 years ago,I start speaking very fast. I feel anxious. I don’t tell many people. I like to keep things to myself. Two years ago, a friend played old news footage of him crying during the rescue. Prince just shrugged. What he remembers from those 50 hours are fragments. The Parle-G biscuits they lowered down. The light bulb tied to a rope. On April 19 2026, Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal met him at a polo match and praised him publicly on social media. Prince had come to watch the game.
