There are several teams in the top 10 interested in trading down, but the issue they’ve run into, and believe will persist, is a lack of interest from teams in moving high 2027 picks, per sources. Things will intensify next week, but that element could make trades more difficult than usual.

@The_RyanWallace His game management is so bad. A bunch of big third downs last year he threw behind the sticks/into coverage/away when unpressured. Forgetting the game clock against North Dakota that cost us a chance to score at the first half. A stat merchant in some ways is a fair label.

@klseaboldt Collins career is basically a year old. Thomas hasn’t been good since a year before with two injuries in the mean time. Which do you think is more predictive value? As Soren says, it’s a get it right business. I have no faith Thomas will be anything more than dfad by July.

@duffymcgee I keep hearing how Thomas is a bad call because of his numbers this season. If that's gonna be the criteria, it doesn't help Collins's cause. If we're gonna go back a few years, Thomas's numbers are MUCH better.

@klseaboldt So the small sample size is inappropriate for Thomas but not Collins? But yea. In his brief career, Collins’s obp is .310 for his career against lefties and .388 against righties but his babip and batted ball data suggest that’s more due to luck than anything.

@klseaboldt And that has been the eternal thorn in the royals side. In every full season but one since 2017, they’ve had a player accrue at least -1.0 war. They had three do it last year. The one year they didn’t was 2024. Not sucking is the first step to being good on offense.

@klseaboldt But the royals have not caught enough shit for signing Thomas to begin with. in his best season he walked 36 times while striking out 176. also a below poor defender. if you were putting together a preseason list of guys most likely to post negative war, he’d be in the top 5.

@stoolpresidente Man that last quarter mile fraction was so slow. 1:11 to 1:40. The first race was 8.5 furlongs and they hit the mile in 1:38. The claimer right before it was a half second slower. So not gonna be a great speed figure. That said I don’t think the horse hated the distance.
