NEW: Powell had a list that included names of lawmakers who he thought would have his back after finally taking on Trump following a criminal investigation by the Justice department.
The Fed chair's belief that he would find a groundswell of support was not an idle thought. It was the product of years of deliberate relationship-building on Capitol Hill since Trump first elevated him to lead the central bank.
The outpouring of support ended up going well beyond that initial list.

Broadcast TV stations have always been required by their licenses to operate in the public interest—that includes serving the needs of their local communities. And broadcasters have long retained the right to not air national programs that they believe are inconsistent with the public interest, including their local communities’ values. I am glad to see that many broadcasters are responding to their viewers as intended.
