Im not putting that 25 year old anti-censorship reply guy on blast (even though they have more followers than me) but holy shit some of you are racist and only care about porn it’s not even funny. How do you not feel a little embarrassed

@inquisitorgirl Exactly like i don’t understand how thats a good “gotcha” for not exploring his assimilated indigenous heritage IN the series where the same exact thing is currently happening to the Ainu? I don’t know why people are so defensive of Noda here it would be the bare minimum

@finalbegin I feel like that's almost a pro-imperial way to look at it also just because his culture had already been assimilated into Japanese culture by the time the story takes place it's strange to write it off due to the fact... What a strange thing for people to get mad at you over

I have notifs off for that post and i’m not really interested in arguing in circles with strangers about it but the fact you won’t even do the basic amount of research about the Hayato people before assuming i’m only saying all this because he is dark-skinned…? Alright
lucaluce@finalbegin

You know it genuinely drives me mad remembering that Koito’s heritage is never explored further or acknowledged as anything but a joke i need Noda to repent for that

And obviously he still aids in colonialism. I promise I’m not trying to take that aspect away from him 😭 i just think that was a dumb and unsatisfying ending for him as a whole if they actually cared any about his heritage. He’s still going to hell to don’t worry

Plus even if he was “just Japanese but dark-skinned” would it also make no sense he doesn’t experience period typical colorism? Or is that too much to ask for in the series surrounding violent class based oppression

He uses a unique dialect and fighting style IN series. I was only peeved he hadn’t experienced more realistic struggles for the time period and i think that’s still important even if “his culture is already assimilated.”

@chaiwithnikolai @dodgedonke @aibouz_ I had assumed the fact that his heritage was also colonized and assimilated by Japan no matter how long ago that its still important to recognize him as being indigenous or at the very least not treated as a running gag. Its still an underutilized aspect of his character

@aibouz_ As far as i remember Its not addressed in the manga either, i don’t think…? It was my first read though but the anime also cuts out even more important characterization with him too. Absolutely bizarre they hate him so bad. Potential man

@finalbegin i'm an anime only (i plan to go back and read the manga once the final season is over) but I don't even remember them ever addressing the fact that Koito is indigenous directly which is crazy.

@targetpractiice GENUINELY god it irks me so badly i never thought it was funny. its so hilarious right he only speaks his native dialect when he’s emotional so other characters around him can berate him for it. Amazing. Noda you’re not seeing heaven for this

He tries hard to repress it too in series but most of the abuse he faces from others is about his wealth and privilege which is understandable, but it’s like Nods just entirely sidelined that other very important aspect of him. He could have been so much better written good god

Oh so his canonical ending arc is continuing the cycle of abuse against indigenous nations in the footsteps of his groomer despite the fact that he is indigenous himself and every mentioned aspect of his heritage is used as a running joke. IM MAD AS FUCK
