"Mene, mene, tekkel upharsin". Causes have effects. How can we tell the dancer from the dance? Angels and bodhisattvas dance on pinheads. Cognitive psych.

Whatever happens tonight, remember this. With the world on the brink of the unthinkable. Trump threatening genocide. Labour MP’s spent the night trolling @ZackPolanski I am so ashamed, but I am also mortified and disgusted. Never vote Labour again. This must be a redline crossed

THE GOVERNMENT IS NOW LEGALLY ALLOWED TO SPY ON YOUR BANK ACCOUNT The DWP just got the power to make your bank report on you. Starting this month. Under the Public Authorities (Fraud, Error and Recovery) Act, banks can now be ordered to scan your account and flag you to the government. No warrant. No suspicion. No court. If you're on Universal Credit, ESA, or Pension Credit and your balance looks funny to an algorithm, you're flagged. Then a caseworker decides your fate. They're calling it the biggest fraud crackdown in a generation. Here's what they're not leading with: only 0.2% of PIP claimants were found to be committing fraud. And overpayments caused by DWP's own errors total billions every year UK Parliament, but mysteriously that part isn't getting the surveillance treatment. If you scan over 20 million accounts and even 1% get wrongly flagged, that's 200,000 people accused of nothing. The Post Office did something similar. We remember how that ended. Silkie Carlo of Big Brother Watch put it: this creates a second-tier justice system reserved for people who rely on welfare. They don't get due process. They get an algorithm. The poorest people in the country are now the most surveilled. The DWP's accounts have been qualified by auditors for 37 consecutive years due to their own errors. But sure, the problem is the claimants. Source: @GBNEWS, @YahooNewsTopics, April 2026

@malcolm_reavell Since pensions are paid over a lifetime of work according to a strict formula, how can they not be "affordable". This is like a whole life insurance company saying it cannot afford the maturity payout it contracted 25 years earlier. It would be gross negligence or fraud.

More pension fear hype. This whole fear mongering claptrap has to stop. There’s no affordability issue for a currency issuing monetary sovereign. The state pension is not funded by taxes.
Jeremy Vine & Daytime on 5@JeremyVineOn5

As a host of benefit pay-outs increase today - can Britain afford it? The state pension is rising, larger families could receive more cash and those on universal credit or disability support will get increased payments too. But can the country afford it?

Palantir's founder had a documented business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein from 2014 to 2019. His company holds over £670m in UK contracts including nuclear weapons systems and NHS patient data. The government removed Mandelson for his Epstein links. Should the same logic apply to Palantir?

Trump an hour ago: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want it to happen but it probably will.” JD Vance right now: "Iran has to know we've got tools in our toolkit that we so far haven't decided to use. Trump can decide to use them, and he will if the Iranians don't change course." The President and the Vice President are both threatening to drop a nuclear bomb on Iran. This is the most dangerous moment in human history and it is all being caused by the United States and Israel.

If Labour want to talk about “hypnosis”, fine - we’ve got much stronger words. Genocide. Disability cuts. Private healthcare money. Palantir. And that’s before Peter Mandelson and Global Counsel. Every time Labour raise this, it just proves they’ve got nothing to offer.

Now former Jewish Labour Movement chair @mikekatz has been publicly exposed as a cheap liar, it's perhaps time to revisit his belief that Corbyn's Labour Party was 'institutionally antisemitic', and ask why anyone took this serial liar seriously. #ItWasAScam
Mike Katz@mikekatz

Following a recent (now deleted) post, I want to make clear that I do not think Karl Turner MP holds, or has held, antisemitic views. I would like to apologise for any suggestion or implication from my post that this is the case.

Well, why not simply invest that 300 million into Doctors Pay and avoid the strikes Wes? Or is there an ideological principle you are trying prove at the expense of the NHS?

What is the UK government doing to stop this❓ Why hasn’t Starmer halted the US use of UK bases❓ Why hasn’t the UK already denounced this madman and suspended military cooperation❓ Has the UK government abdicated all responsibility for international law and public interest❓

Here is the person Keir Starmer is allowing to use his warplanes to take off from this country to bomb Iran.

MAN LOSES EVERYTHING FOR TELLING THE TRUTH. HSBC LOSES NOTHING FOR FRAUD. Nicholas Wilson spotted something wrong in 2003. Simple enough: @HSBC's subsidiary HFC Bank was quietly adding a 16.4% "debt collection charge" to the accounts of people already struggling to pay off store cards at John Lewis, Currys, B&Q, Dixons and PC World. Illegal. Straightforward. He said so. His boss started calling him "Mr Ethical." Not a compliment. He reported it. Got sacked. Reported it again. Got ignored. Regulators sat on it for years. @TheFCA own Complaints Commissioner eventually said it was the worst case of regulatory failure he'd ever dealt with. The FCA responded by appointing someone from John Lewis and someone from HSBC to its board. You genuinely cannot make this up. After 13 years, HSBC quietly agreed to compensate customers. The official figure: 6,700 people. Wilson says the real number is closer to 500,000. He estimates the fraud totalled over £1 billion. HSBC has paid out around £200 million so far, with some victims receiving over £10,000. No fines. No prosecutions. Nobody went to jail. Wilson, meanwhile, has been unemployable ever since. Blacklisted. Living on benefits. Nearly lost his home. The bank that defrauded half a million people kept its licence. The man who exposed it lost everything. Source: @guardian | nicholaswilson_com

MPs get a 5% pay rise this month whilst resident doctors are being offered 3.5% and the government just scrapped thousands of training places that would have put more doctors into #NHS wards. This is why doctors are on strike & patients are standing with them ⬇️

@Carer49 The amount pensioners receive will go up by less than the combination of inflation, war-related energy price hikes and increased taxes. Should media spox like GMB who can't master basic arithmetic be making statements like this?
