#SouthAfrica: Writer/director Kagiso Lediga (QUEEN SONO) is set to debut a new teenage espionage drama titled CLASSIFIED on Netflix. The eight-episode series is scheduled to premiere on November 30, 2023. The series follows Ella Gardner (Imani Pullum), a student at a public high school in Oakland, California, whose life takes a dramatic turn when she is uprooted to Johannesburg, South Africa, to live with her estranged father and his new family. Her attendance at an elite international school may harbor its own agendas and secrets when she discovers her stepmother is part of the CIA. Ella finds herself immersed in a complex and unfamiliar world and culture, which becomes central to her journey of self-discovery and her quest to return home. CLASSIFIED is a collaboration between Lediga, who serves as the show's creator and showrunner, and director Tebogo Malope. Both previously collaborated on Netflix's first African original series QUEEN SONO (2020). The series premieres on Netflix on November 30, 2023. Here's a teaser.
