@LawrenceKS_PD Just made it home from my job in one piece, but was amazed at the number of people not using headlights in whiteout conditions.

Road conditions at this point are extremely hazardous. Officers are experiencing significant difficulty getting to calls, and having to pass numerous stuck cars on their way to in-progress incidents.

This is my first significant winter weather event in #LFK, is this normal?

Thank you for all your kind words of support, certain things are looking slightly better in my neighborhood today! Stopped raining, roads between my home and my parents are more clear and safe, and I may have tree people coming to see about removing trees from home this afternoon

Got word tonight about an hour ago over a spotty call that my brother and parents are okay in Asheville, but without power and water and are essentially stranded for the time being. Just so glad to hear their voices if even for a couple seconds

Dunno how I’m supposed to work when all I can think about is my beloved WNC mountains. My folks are safe, but I know plenty of people aren’t and my heart is broken for all the damage done by the hurricane
