Thinking about using 2-Sided Break (5-Out Transition Offense) with your team? Here's how we introduced it to our team. Included are the progressions, read options, and even set actions for early offense. 🎥 youtu.be/J0TfAic2Jfk

MARCH MADNESS TERMINOLGY 101: LOW MAN/TAG DEFENDER- hoop defender against a 2 man action- tasked with tagging the roller in an aggressive coverage situation. DHO- dribble hand off. GHOST- fake the screen and move horizontally away from the ball (2 hands on the back). CHASE- pass and go screen the recipient. GET- pass and go get/cut off of the recipient. SPAIN- 3 man action with a ball screen into a back screen for the roller, and pop. ZOOM- 3 man action with a wide pin into a DHO. FLARE- butt to the sideline, off ball screen away from the ball handler. SPREAD BALL SCREEN- both corners, one 45 occupied with a ball screen in the middle of the floor. RIP screen- back screen. BLOB- baseline out of bounds. BOX- both blocks and elbows occupied. HORNS- both elbow areas and corners occupied. STAGGER- off ball double screen. FLEX- set a screen and then receive a screen. VERTICALITY- going straight up and down in your ‘cylinder’ on defense. PUNCH- post up. ZIPPER- butt to half court off ball screen from the low block. 2 for 1- using the shot clock to your advantage to attempt 2 shots to the opponents 1, at the end of half/end of game. ATO- play occurring after a timeout/break. CONTINUITY- structured spacing template with specific rules for specific actions on offense. DIG- one pass away, help defender digs at the post up or penetration and then recovers. STUNT- aggressively lunge and recover at the ball handler. 45 CUT- cutting from the wing to the hoop. HEDGE- screeners defender stunts at the ball and recovers. BLITZ- trap the ball handler in PnR. DROP- screeners defender splits the difference between the ball and the hoop. UNDER- ball handlers man goes under the ball screen. *** Obviously a list for broad appeal. Feel free to ask away if there is any terminology questions.

Wise words from Joe Mazzulla about how winning isn’t everything: “At the end of the day, if you have a bunch of wins, but you don't have the relationship with the guys, it's pretty empty.” “You're in it to go after stuff, together with people, and to be a part of someone else's story and someone to be a part of yours.”

My son and all his buddies, all high school freshman, have a fantasy football league and their punishment for coming in last place is that you have to ask a senior girl to prom with an elaborate promposal.

@TwoFiveBaseball Went as a player when I was 12 with my dad. I thought it was great experience and looking back now because I was with my old man. Only get to experience it once with sons and fathers.

Possibly unpopular opinion… The 12U Cooperstown tourney is a waste. - Thousands of dollars to go - Questionable weather - Generally not good baseball - Crapshoot of competition - And Barry Bonds isn’t in the hall of fame, so there’s no need to go 🤷🏻‍♂️

@CinemaTweets1 It ushered in the death of network TV shows. People wanted swearing, death, gore, sex, etc. Everything you couldn’t see on NBC, CBS, etc. Network shows became excessively boring in comparison.

The Sopranos is filled with so many unpredictable storylines but everything involving Vito might have been the most shocking. I still don’t know how the writers of this show came up with this. I’ve always said that The Sopranos is simply one of the most shocking shows of all time

Spent last 2 days at a couple NBA training camps. 1st of all, @cavs + @OrlandoMagic have elite cultures from mgmt to coaches to players! 3 big things to me... NBA players talk---incredible communicators. They sprint the floor--both ways. And they don't waste reps! All business--it's why they are where they are!

If the @PGA’s goal was to keep out the riff raff with $750 tickets, it had the complete opposite effect. Instead, they filled Bethpage with young men who don’t blink at a $750 get-in price because that’s a rounding error on their dad’s credit card. The ones I saw crossing the line were overwhelmingly 19-25 year olds who have clearly never had to mop a floor in their life and wear their disdain for anybody who has all over their face. The type wearing a size small Peter Millar polo and 5” inseam shorts who have never been punched in the face and have no humility. Meanwhile, the “regular guy” who works a regular job and doesn’t look down on everyone outside his tax bracket was priced out.

I think the real reason so many parents get upset when good coaches and educators hold their kids accountable is because they correctly recognize it as an accurate indictment on their parenting. I said what I said.

OFF BALL READS Every player should take 1 hour and study how to move off the ball. Then Consciously work on it during training, pick up, games. The concepts are easy to learn, takes some discipline to master, but will make the game exponentially simpler for the player!!
