In Japanese, cooler is air conditioner for cooling. What in English?

@mullr In my thought, air conditioner is for conditioning air includes both cooling and heating.

@hirodashi Ah yes, cooler is also used for cooling box for drinks or fishes too. It's "cooler box" or just "cooler" in Japanese.

It's very hot today. Maybe hottest day in this spring. I turned air conditioner on. I was using heater few weeks ago.

@2nihon Yes, I know that a cooler is for cooling drinks. I'm wondering why "air conditioner" is used only for cooling? Why not for heating?
