The Knicks can avoid the second apron with minimum salaries for final roster spots. That means no Mitchell Robinson or Landry Shamet back. I'm curious what a "big check" is. It can't be bigger than last year's $252 million roster without exceeding the second apron.

In the bluntest terms:
The 5 starters plus Deuce and Jose (assuming he picks up his option) make $200 million. The 2nd apron is $222 million. You need to fill 14 roster spots, and the vet minimum for anyone with actual NBA experience is $2.5M
