My dad recently turned 87. His mind is still sharp as a tack, but his body is slowly failing him. About 4½ months ago he told me that he felt like he only had about 6 months left in him. For those that have worked Geriatrics and are reading this, yeah I said "oh shit" to myself. See the thing with geriatric patients, when they make a statement like this, it way more often than not is an accurate prediction. The last month has seen Dad's decline accelerate. I know what's coming, I have been preparing myself, I still don't like having to face this reality of life. So why share this with y'all? It's a reminder that life is finite. Some will live longer than others, but at the end there is no getting out of this. So do me a favor, make peace now with those family members you may be estranged from. If necessary apologize and ask forgiveness if you were in the wrong. If someone approaches you asking forgiveness I hope you can find it in yourself to grant it to them. Finally, seek your inner peace. Forgive yourself. That's it.

Have you ever felt betrayed? I have.  And I do, right now. I see these news stories about staffers from W. Bush/Romney/McCain supporting Harris, and not only do I feel betrayed, I feel like a sucker for having trusted these amoral piles of dog dirt in the past. Look, to me the distinction in the modern American political sphere has always been: -Democrats want to have intrusive government that tells citizens how to live their lives down to an excruciating level of command detail. -Republicans want to have limited government where citizens get to decide for themselves how they will live. To me this has always been the bright-line distinction between the two parties, and was the basis for every political decision I ever made and every vote I ever cast. But it’s obvious now that these traitorous pieces of pretend “conservative” garbage never actually cared about limited government.  Rather, they were ALWAYS in favor of intrusive government, just so long as they got to be the ones to decide the scope and nature of the intrusion.  Loathsome bastards. These bloviating pieces of amoral crap never cared about limited government.  They only cared about the power they could wield. This disgusts me and angers me.  How DARE YOU pretend to support conservative, Constitutional values when all along it was just about how you could control the rest of us, you filthy heaps of diseased and debrided hemorrhoidal tissue.  I sincerely hope you rot in Hell for your lies and misdeeds, and the way you deceived and manipulated tens of millions of well-meaning Americans. If you are like me, you have noticed a sudden X surge of ostensibly conservative accounts claiming “I will not vote for Trump because he will not ban abortion.” While I believe some small segment of these people are sincere in their extraordinary stupidity, I believe most of them are part of a Democrat-funded, well-coordinated, paid-bot, information warfare operation to suppress the GOP vote. The job of these people/bots is to demoralize and suppress the vote. When you argue with them (as I have been doing before now) you give the psyop oxygen and room to grow. Let’s not do that. My new technique is as follows, and I hope you can join me: 1. Mock them as a stupid, failed psyop. Bring up names like Soros and Russia just to make the mockery more enjoyable. 2. Remind them that Trump is going to win. 3. Remind them that because Trump is going to win, their efforts at promoting nationwide abortion until birth have failed. 4. Mock them again. 5. Mute or block them. Bottom line—don’t take these people seriously, mock them as the failed psyop that they are, and then move on so they don’t have the exposure to spread their lies.

But I have a more generous interpretation, one that is truer to my experience of Donald Trump as he is today. "Make America Great Again" recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself. It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes. It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world's most vibrant middle class, and a idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world. I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore.

So, God has a great sense of humor. I got in the car to take the kids to church…battery dead as a doornail. So annoying. I called an Uber to take me to Wal-Mart to get a new battery. My Uber driver Abdullah asks me how to register to vote. “Are you eligible to vote?” “Yes, I worked with the SEALs in Afghanistan as a translator. I have been a citizen two years.” I texted him a link to register. “Have you decided who you’re going to vote for?” “Of course, Trump. All of my Afghan friends are. We know.” One more sign has been distributed. I gave him mine.
