Finally made it to jazz night at the UUU Art Collective.

Sam Grisman Project at Geneseo Riviera. Hot Dawg! Gawd damn! Some Grisman, some Garcia, and some other stuff, including a great bit of fiddle tunes with Finger Lakes' finest Richie Stearns, and some plugged in jams with another of Finger Lakes' finest, Max Flansburg.

Big week at the Little! Monday: Eric Heveron-Smith in the cafe. Wednesday: Margaret Explosion's cosmic explorations in the cafe then... Kaki King's guitar wizardry in Theater 1. Thursday: Dinner in the cafe then... Screening of the surprisingly great Linoleum in Theater 1.

Christian McBride’s New Jawn (with Josh Evans, Marcus Strickland and Nasheet Waits) at the Smith Opera House. Incredible playing all around, really great show. Annual Scott LaFaro memorial, McBride played a magnificent solo tribute before their last piece.

Ben Morey and the Eyes, featuring half of Mikaela Davis' band this night, at Artisan Works. Country tinged rock n folk in a kingdom of kitsch and art. Very cool place for a show hopefully will become a regular thing.

Yarn, honking and tonking (and rocking and rolling), celebrating fifteen years of the best honky tonk in town, Abilene. Been fun to be along for the ride since near the beginning.

Saturday night in Rochester. Free jazz explorations at Bop Shop Records with Buffalo's BPD Trio. High energy jams by Vertices in the front room at Photo City. Then electro-forward rock outs with Jimkata in the main hall.

Before they were Oscar winning directors for @allatoncemovie, @Daniels were Joywave award winning directors for Joywave’s hit music video, “Tongues”. I don’t think we’ve ever shared these BTS photos from the shoot publicly, but today seemed like an appropriate time. A thread:

Philippe Lemm Trio at Bop Shop Records. To hear jazz of this caliber, played in between the stacks of a small record store, at a strip mall in Brighton NY, with just a couple dozen others for only $20. Ridiculous from all angles.

Yeehaw! Very much looking forward to seeing Danielle take the stage at Newport again.
