@Defendthewest17 Dude, Arri. The grail, lol. I hope you post some screen grabs when you do! And yeah, the ursa mini pro 12k. Yeah, love blackmagic, man. So flexible in post. Excited to see what you make next!
English

@localguy76 Atlas orions nice! The ursa mini pro 12k? The Sony fx6 is pretty popular right now and I’m also a blackmagic guy, also shot with reds and canons. Shooting on an Arri next
English

No tungsten lighting, shot on digital 6k cameras instead of film, darker tone reflecting the time we live in, and compare that to the wonderfully casted movie from 1999 and you get this
Axel in Dune Mode🦇@AxelTalksFilm
the contrast is insane
English

@Defendthewest17 Yes! The 12K, using Atlas Orions. Such a beautiful combo. The director almost has her next one fully funded, and I'm considering the new camera Blackmagic came out with last year. Also considering Sony or even Fujifilm (the color science is beautiful) You're a Sony guy iirc?
English

@Defendthewest17 100%. Shot my last big project in 6k, but it was anamorphic, with the intent to down res to 4k. Then added in fine grain in post to give a 70mm texture. The point was always to work from a higher source fidelity than output. "Uncanny" is apt for the right. And thank you! Excited!
English

@localguy76 I agree, finchers films prove this. I usually shoot in 2k-4k. 6k is so damn high, and the cooler tones without grain give an uncanny feeling. Enjoy the Rangers this season brother!
English

@Defendthewest17 I'm all for using new technologies. It's the utter abandonment of classical aesthetics and techniques that seems utterly tone-deaf to me. Especially when adapting literary work. It's almost like the point was to little more than to deconstruct the films and do anything *but*.
English

@RightOnRangers ChatGPT is the perfect description. I don't love them, don't absolutely hate them either. Just aggressively mid, especially after the gems that were the Peagle unis.
English

@localguy76 @_jivany_ Eovaldi was ungodly last year, even if he puts up a 2.5 era that’s technically regression. And mahle was putting up a sub 2 era in April and May. Degrom was really good and healthy all yr. Merrill Kelly was really good for us last year. They’re going to be top 5 but prob not no 1
English

This is why - even though the changes they made to the offense over the offseason seem subtle rather than splashy - I really believe this offense is going to be orders of magnitude better than last year. I really do think if the pitching stays healthy the Rangers win the AL West.
105.3 The FAN@1053thefan
Was the Rangers' offense bad in 2025 or just unlucky? ESPN says it was the latter... @rjchoppy: "I went & looked. The Rangers scored 500 runs in their 81 wins & scored less than 200 runs in their 81 losses. And I was like, 'That seems like a really, really big differential...'"
English

@_jivany_ @localguy76 Pitching won’t be as good as last year considering it was no 1 in the league and theyre bound for some regression (I think they’re still top 5) but if the offense is a little better to make up for it and we can put up another +80 run differential we should be at 90 wins for sure
English

@BraydenBrower3 Dude, the fact we were able to keep Wade and Canha in the organization is so fantastic. The depth rn is stacked.
English

When Joc is right, he's on time for high fastballs. This is what has been so frustrating to watch, bc it's supposed to be his bread n butter. IF he can start punishing these guys who disrespect him (hard to blame them) with these high fastballs in zone, this offense gets scary.
Rangers Fan Cave@RangersFanCave
Joc going yard to left-center in the 4th was exactly what we needed to see. He's hitting .175 this spring with a .548 OPS. That dinger won't fix the numbers, but it might fix his head. We need his bat to wake up.
English

@RanDumbInTX Yeah, I'm with you. I have a feeling that, with this being his walk year, the leash will be ridiculously short. And Skip strikes me as a dude who won't just trot you out there because you've been in the league long enough to draw a pension. He seems to understand the urgency.
English

@localguy76 Hopefully it’s a short leash they have him on. With the uncertainty of a ‘27 season, we don’t have time to keep him in the lineup, IMO. We won’t have this pitching staff forever.
English

@RanDumbInTX Hard to be a fan after the way he's performed. But he's on our team, has been a beast at the plate in the past. I'm rooting for him to get it together. He has a clean slate as of today. Clock is ticking and there are some talented dudes in this system.
English

@localguy76 Not a fan….yet. BUT….but, in his defense; the entire team sucked last year at the plate. Seems as if some things have been worked on in the spring. I hope he and the entire lineup has great success. We have pitching and that’s rare for this organization.
English

@_jivany_ Maybe. It could all blow up and go to hell in a handbasket. I just prefer optimism. Better for my blood pressure.
English

@localguy76 That all sounds great. Which is exactly why I dont trust it lol. Guess I'm just waiting for the shoe to drop.
English

@RangersFanCave Love Langford, but if Seager is our MVP we're probably a WS contender. That's how good he is when he's healthy and right. Changes the entire outlook of the team's chances.
English

@_jivany_ I understand that. But when I think about it, I can only think the pitching should get even better. Evo healthy. deGrom another year removed from TJ. Leiter building off breakout. Gore > Mahle, Rocker > Corbin. And the pen really looks pretty solid (no proper closer, ofc).
English

@localguy76 Agree.
My worry, believe it or not, is the pitching. Can they replicate last year? That's hard to do. If the offense steps up, usually one other part slows down. It's hard to get all 3 parts of the game working well at the same time (offense, SP, bullpen).
English

@1053thefan @theboone29 @1053SS @rjchoppy What amazes me is the fact that everywhere I see it talked about, the consensus seems to be that literally no one knows or understands what changed from '23 on. That's rough, man. Maybe just move the fences in a touch, rather than beat down your lineup mentally.
English

.@theboone29 with @1053SS & @rjchoppy on Globe Life Field playing big last season:
"We were playing in a different ballpark than everyone else was last season. ... Players can get mentally beat up when a ballpark is playing really big..."

Mark Canha is also staying in the organization. The minor-league break-camp rosters are due today. #Rangers
